What You’ll Be Doing This is a site-based HVAC Service Technician role located in Waiuku, supporting one of New Zealand's largest industrial sites. You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding, and repairing critical HVAC, ventilation, and mechanical systems that support day-to-day site operations. The role includes planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdown response, equipment repairs, and participation in an after-hours on-call roster. Working as part of a small, close-knit team of eight experienced technicians, you'll help keep essential systems operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. This is a collaborative team environment where safety, quality workmanship, and supporting one another are highly valued. You'll also have opportunities to support equipment upgrades, replacements, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement projects across the site. Safety is non-negotiable. This is a high-risk industrial environment with strict Health & Safety requirements. You must consistently follow site procedures, work safely within controlled systems, and prioritise safety and compliance at all times. What the Role Involves HVAC servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown response Mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs Supporting equipment upgrades, replacements, and commissioning works Working closely with an experienced on-site team Completing job documentation and reporting through Simpro Participating in the after-hours on-call roster What We’re Looking For Recognised trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Current EWRB Electrical Service Technician (EST) Registration and Practising Licence Proven experience in commercial and/or industrial HVAC servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Experience working with air handling units (AHUs), ventilation systems, mechanical services plant, HVAC controls, and other critical building or industrial systems Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), including inspections, filter changes, servicing, and breakdown response Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment Strong commitment to Health & Safety, quality workmanship, and following established procedures Full New Zealand Driver Licence Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), automated controls, or large-scale HVAC systems is advantageous Additional Requirements Able to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing Able to successfully complete all site, plant, and Health & Safety inductions Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment Willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call roster Why Join RCR?
