To achieve this, we are looking for a proactive and collaborative Facilities Manager to lead the management and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring they are safe, compliant, well-presented and performing at their best. The Position Reporting to the Head of Assets & Airport Emergency Services, you'll lead our Facilities team and take ownership of the day-to-day management and performance of QAC's facilities across the terminal precinct, utility assets, commercial buildings and precincts, roadways and landholdings. This is a hands-on leadership role with plenty of variety. You'll oversee everything from repair and maintenance programmes and contractor performance through to building compliance, financial performance and the presentation of the terminal precinct. Key Responsibilities Leading, developing and supporting a high-performing Facilities team Overseeing repair and maintenance activities and ensuring work is planned, efficient and cost-effective Managing and continuously improving our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Ensuring our buildings and facilities meet compliance Managing facilities service levels and ensuring maintenance requests are delivered against agreed standards Leading contractor management, including onboarding, performance, safety and authority-to-work processes Ensuring terminal presentation reflects a premier destination Monitoring cleaning and R&M contractor performance to maintain a high standard of terminal presentation Coordinating work occurring in and around the terminal to ensure risks are effectively identified and managed Managing significant facilities Opex and sustaining Capex expenditure, including forecasting, reporting and identifying opportunities to optimise spend Delivering R&M plans across commercial assets and implementing asset replacement in line with asset management plans About you You'll be an experienced facilities professional who is comfortable operating in a busy, complex environment where safety, customer experience and operational continuity all matter. You’ll bring strong leadership skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of people - from your own team through to contractors, tenants, suppliers and internal stakeholders. To be successful in this role, you will have: Strong experience in facilities management, including repair and maintenance and compliance planning and delivery. Proven people leadership and team management experience. Extensive experience managing contractors, contractor safety and critical risk controls. Strong commercial capability, including experience managing Opex and sustaining Capex projects and budgets. The ability to build strong relationships, influence others and navigate challenging conversations. A proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and improving how facilities services are delivered. High levels of personal accountability and relevant technical knowledge or qualifications.
