Join our Wellness Support Team (WST), a pioneering primary mental health service delivering integrated care to high-needs communities. We are seeking qualified professionals to join our Te Tumu Waiora service as Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) across our Canterbury GP clinics. About the Role As a HIP you will work within one of our busy General Practice clinics providing cover operational hours service to our whaiora. This is a rewarding generalist role embedded in primary care. You will deliver brief, behavioral and psychological health interventions and work in collaboration with GPs, nurses, health coaches, and support workers. Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) use Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT) – a brief, evidence-based model designed to create meaningful change in patients' lives. You'll work within a fast-paced, walk-in clinic environment, seeing patients as part of routine care, with warm handovers from the clinical team. Eligibility Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have: Registration under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA) or full NZAC membership. Experience using brief, evidence-based psychological interventions. An understanding of the importance of following evidence-based models, policies, practices and procedures Exceptional people skills for building relationships within multi-disciplinary teams in General practice.
