Homeroom Teacher - Years 7-8 - Fixed term Frontline Recruitment Group – Temuka, South Island Looking for a short-term teaching opportunity where you can step in, make an impact, and support a class through the remainder of the term? We're working with a well-established school in South Canterbury seeking a Year 7-8 Homeroom Teacher for approximately 4-6 weeks, starting 7 September, to provide cover for a teacher on extended sick leave. This could be a great fit for an experienced intermediate, primary or junior secondary teacher who is confident managing a homeroom class and can quickly build strong relationships with students. About the Role You'll take responsibility for a Year 7-8 homeroom class, teaching across core curriculum areas and providing consistency for students during this short-term cover period. The focus is on creating a calm, positive classroom environment, keeping learning on track, and working closely with the wider teaching team. You'll be joining a supportive school where systems and structures are already in place, allowing you to focus on the students and day-to-day teaching. What You'll Be Doing Teaching a Year 7-8 homeroom class across core curriculum areas Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons Maintaining strong classroom routines and expectations Building positive relationships with students Working collaboratively with the wider teaching team Providing continuity and consistency throughout the contract period About You Current New Zealand teacher registration - essential Availability to start 7 September Confidence teaching Years 7-8 Good communication and relationship-building ability Ideally, previous New Zealand classroom experience Experience within an intermediate, primary or junior secondary setting would be particularly useful.
