The School Property Officer is a critical role in supporting the delivery of school led projects within School Property. This is a 6-month fixed term or secondment position based in Lower Hutt to cover parental leave. We work across the country providing funding and project support to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Support other staff in the region by processing project documentation, payments and property plans Track projects and provide guidance Support and report on finance Work with a great team Be an inclusive and helpful team member Salary range: $65,801 - $79,195 per annum + Kiwisaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience. To be successful in the role, you’ll be working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, developing relationships at all levels. You will take pride in getting work done at schools, knowing that your efforts help ensure these spaces are warm, safe, and dry - creating better environments for students and staff alike. You will have a strong desire to work in a supportive and energised team. Requirements Resilience under pressure and the ability to manage varied workloads. There will be challenges from time to time so you will need to be able to adapt, use your initiative and self-manage. Proven experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders and delivering excellent customer service. Strong financial and data management skills, including budget reconciliation and invoice processing. Proficiency with office and financial systems, and ability to maintain data integrity. Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills to handle multiple priorities. Strong analytical skills to use data and insights for decision-making and problem-solving. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain processes and policies clearly. The School Property group plans, builds, and manages school properties to ensure they are safe, warm and dry. We oversee more than 2,100 primary and secondary state schools on 8,000 hectares of land with a value of $33.5 billion. It’s the second largest social property portfolio in New Zealand, and one of the largest overall. Once established, the NZSPA will be responsible for planning, building, maintaining and administrating the school property portfolio.
