The opportunity This is a newly created role bringing project management and engineering leadership together in one seat. You will take Liquigas' capital projects from concept through to commissioning and provide technical leadership to a small engineering team, keeping the assets safe, reliable and efficient. It reports to the Head of Operations and Engineering and sits close to the decisions that shape the business. The weight of the role sits in project delivery. You will have two experienced technical engineers reporting to you, so people management is light, particularly early on, and the day-to-day is about getting projects done well. What you'll be responsible for Planning and delivering capital projects from concept through to commissioning and handover Providing technical leadership to two engineers and coordinating engineering priorities Managing project budgets, forecasts and expenditure, and delivering value over the whole life of the asset Owning the Management of Change process for engineering and operational changes Providing engineering assurance across the business, within delegated authority Managing consultants and contractors to hit safety, quality, cost and schedule outcomes What we're looking for A strong project manager with an engineering background, ideally from a process, manufacturing, energy, utilities or heavy industrial setting. Experience in a high hazard environment is valuable. A track record delivering capital or brownfield projects from concept to commissioning, including business cases, budgets and plans Experience managing contractors, consultants and suppliers A strong grasp of Management of Change, engineering risk management and engineering assurance The ability to provide technical leadership and work across operations, maintenance and external partners A degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is required, along with the right to work in New Zealand.
