Job Description

WeCan Services Ltd – Hamilton, North Island As an Employment & Pathways Consultant, you'll facilitate work-readiness learning, provide one-to-one mentoring and support participants through employment preparation, placement and ongoing pastoral care. You'll also build strong employer relationships and create opportunities that may not be publicly advertised. This is a hands-on, people-centered and results-focused role. Key responsibilities Facilitate engaging group workshops and practical employment-readiness activities Adapt your facilitation to different learning styles, confidence levels and cultural backgrounds Coach and mentor participants to identify their strengths, goals and employment pathways Develop practical employment plans and help participants overcome barriers to work Support CV development, applications, interview preparation and workplace readiness Build employer relationships and proactively source vacancies, work trials and industry opportunities Profile and market participants positively to suitable employers Coordinate interviews, pre-employment checks, employment starts and placement support Provide regular pastoral support to participants and employers after placement Manage an active caseload, meet agreed targets and maintain accurate outcome evidence About you Is a confident and engaging facilitator who can motivate groups and individuals Connects easily with rangatahi, adults, whānau, employers and community partners Creates safe, positive learning environments while maintaining clear expectations Is confident networking, marketing candidates and asking employers for opportunities Understands the local labour market and can match people with suitable roles Is resilient, proactive, organised and comfortable working toward targets Balances encouragement and empathy with accountability and professional boundaries Works independently while contributing positively to a small, committed team Is culturally responsive and committed to working respectfully with Māori, Pacific and diverse communities A current full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence About us WeCan Services is a Hamilton-based employment and work-readiness provider.
