Wellington Based The Role As UX/UI Designer, you'll turn early ideas and client needs into interfaces people can actually use, across our enterprise innovation projects and the startups we're building. You'll work closely with our developer, taking rough briefs and wireframes through to clean, tested designs that are ready to build. This is a hands-on role for someone early in their design career who wants real projects, real clients, and a lot of trust early on. You Will Design UI for both client innovation projects and startup products (Spriggo, Homework NZ, and others) Turn rough briefs and half-formed ideas into wireframes, prototypes and polished interfaces Work closely with our developer to keep designs realistic and buildable Sit in on client and founder discovery sessions, translating what they need into design Use AI tools to speed up your process - not just when someone asks you to Build quick prototypes to test ideas before they're built out properly Jump between projects - one week on a client tool, the next on a startup product roadmap Who You Are An early-career designer (junior to mid) with a strong portfolio — internships, freelance, or agency work all count Confident in Figma, with a solid grasp of UI fundamentals: hierarchy, spacing, consistency Curious about UX, not just making things look good — you think about how people actually use what you design Comfortable with ambiguity — happy working from a messy brief, not just a finished spec Already using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or similar in your day-to-day work Keen to build client-facing skills over time — you don't need to be the one running the room yet, but you want to get there Join Us We're building the next generation of AI-powered product work in Aotearoa, for businesses who want to actually use it and startups who want to build it.
