Trades Assistant

We require a Trades Assistant to join our highly skilled team to work on a significant hydro project at the Maraetai Power Station, around 45 minutes away from Taupo, and 30 minutes from Tokoroa. The role involves assisting Trades staff (Fitters, Electricians etc) to undertake the wide range activities required to unpack, clean and check, disassemble and reassemble mechanical and electrical equipment. Ideally, applicants will have experience in working in mechanical industries and a passion for all things mechanical and or electrical. What is required from you? Follow instructions accurately in a safety sensitive environment. Undertake basic mechanical works. Active participation in safety to make the site a safe place to work, including keeping the workplace clean and tidy. Looking after and maintaining tools. An inquisitive mind and the desire to upskill and train in this field. Certifications in First Aid, Working at Heights and Confined Spaces would be an advantage but not essential. We will supply training for our successful applicant. Other certifications relating to crane and forklift may also be an advantage. A Class 4 Drivers Licence would be an advantage but not a requirement We work 9 hours per day, 5 days per week, with the potential for overtime on some Saturday's.
