We are seeking an Associate Digital Infrastructure Engineer to join our specialist engineering team on Auckland's North Shore. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging infrastructure professional with existing technical experience who wants to broaden their capability and develop towards becoming a specialist Digital Infrastructure Engineer. Working alongside experienced consultants and engineers, you will contribute to the support, delivery and operation of enterprise digital infrastructure environments across New Zealand, while gaining exposure to a broad range of technologies, customers and projects. This is a varied role in a growing specialist technology business. Alongside technical engineering work, you will help coordinate our managed services workload and take ownership of practical operational activities that keep our engineering team and projects running effectively. About the Role As an Associate Digital Infrastructure Engineer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery and operation of enterprise digital infrastructure solutions across New Zealand. You will manage and resolve infrastructure support requests within your technical capability, undertake first-line technical investigation across a range of infrastructure technologies, and work alongside specialist engineers on more complex incidents, engineering activities and project delivery. As your capability develops, you will progressively take ownership of more complex technical work and greater responsibility across service coordination, engineering and project delivery. Working closely with our engineering and infrastructure teams, you will: Deliver technical support across our Managed Digital Infrastructure Services clients, including Microsoft 365, networking, PBX, CCTV, access control and other infrastructure technologies. Investigate infrastructure incidents and service requests, undertake initial diagnosis and resolution, and upscale appropriately where specialist engineering input is required. Monitor and manage service requests and system alerts generated through our service management and automated monitoring platforms. Assist with technical triage and service coordination, assessing incoming requests, gathering relevant information, prioritising work and coordinating engineering resources. Configure, stage, test and deploy enterprise technology solutions in conjunction with our specialist engineering team. Support infrastructure projects and technology rollouts throughout New Zealand. Maintain accurate technical, asset and service documentation. Manage technology inventory and project equipment, including receipting, labelling, asset movements, spares and stock records. Coordinate practical project logistics, including preparing deployment equipment, packing, shipping and couriering technology to customer sites. Contribute to the day-to-day operational activities required to keep a small, collaborative engineering business running effectively. You will also have access to our R&D laboratory, providing opportunities to test emerging technologies, validate solutions and build practical engineering experience outside live customer environments. Our North Shore office will be your primary workplace, with occasional travel throughout New Zealand. About You You are an emerging infrastructure professional with practical IT experience and a sound understanding of the technologies and concepts that underpin modern digital infrastructure. You do not need to be an expert across every technology we work with, but you should already be comfortable working in a technical support or infrastructure environment and have enough experience to investigate common issues, understand infrastructure terminology and confidently work through technical problems. You may currently be working in an IT support, MSP, service desk, systems support or junior infrastructure engineering role and be looking for an opportunity to broaden your technical exposure and accelerate your development. You will suit this role if you are self‑motivated, organised and comfortable taking ownership. You should enjoy solving problems, working with customers and getting involved wherever required. In a specialist team like ours, not every task fits neatly within a job title, and we value people who are willing to contribute across technical, operational and project activities. You will bring: Practical experience in an IT support, infrastructure, MSP or similar technical environment. A sound understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, IP addressing, subnets, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS and wireless networking. Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure concepts and technologies such as managed switches, firewalls, access points, SSH, SNMP, device management and infrastructure monitoring. Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including users, groups, permissions and licensing. Experience working with ticketing or service management platforms and an understanding of incidents, service requests, prioritisation, escalation and ticket ownership. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work methodically through technical issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work directly with customers. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. A proactive and accountable approach, with the initiative to see work through to completion. A genuine interest in technology and the motivation to continue developing your engineering capability. Around two or more years of relevant practical IT experience would be advantageous, although we will consider applicants with less experience who can demonstrate strong technical capability and the right attitude. Industry certifications or qualifications in Information Technology, networking, systems engineering or a related discipline will also be advantageous. Technical Experience Experience across several of the following areas will be highly regarded: Enterprise and converged networking, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and wireless Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint and digital workplace technologies Voice, PBX and unified communications solutions Camera surveillance analytics and integrated access control Industrial and facilities structured cabling and fibre infrastructure Operational Technology (OT), IoT and industrial environments Cloud and hybrid cloud platforms #J-18808-Ljbffr
