About the Role Te Awakura (Adult Inpatient Group) is a 64-bed adult inpatient unit that provides 24hr care to consumers experiencing acute mental illness. There are four wards that form Te Awakura: North, East, South and West, and represent the four quadrants of Christchurch. We are passionate about working with consumers that always have their best interest, we have a supportive team culture, with opportunities for growth and development. We are seeking Mental Health Assistants to bring your enthusiasm and motivation to work with us, in return we we'll provide you with a great opportunity to enhance your skills and have a willingness to learn. You will be responsible for Basic consumer care Assisting the clinical team with a variety of tasks Ensuring that our consumers have the best experience possible Taking consumers on outings within the motu Skills and Experience Kind and caring nature High levels of confidentiality Ability to build relationships with people from all walks of life Previous experience in Mental Health or similar role is desirable but not essential A full NZ Drivers licence Health and Wellbeing Certificate desirable Please ensure you include a covering letter to highlight your relevant skillset and experience.
