Join our Wastewater Transmission team as an Operations Engineer and help shape the performance of some of New Zealand's largest and most critical wastewater assets. This is a varied role where you'll combine technical problem-solving, project support, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver work that has a real impact on the community and environment. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to: Undertake condition assessment of operational assets. Project support for Watercare's infrastructure department in the execution of projects and renewals. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational solutions. Find solutions to operational problems and coordinate planning and repairs. Manage operational projects and liaise with consultants and contractors. Manage environmental compliance to ensure the best community outcomes. Perform after-hours, on-call duties and be available for rostered work if needed. You'll bring curiosity, sound judgement, and a practical approach to solving problems. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with others, can balance technical detail with operational priorities, and is motivated by making a positive difference. You will also bring: A relevant tertiary level qualification in Engineering or be an experienced practitioner. Experience in water or wastewater networks, planning, operations and maintenance, civil or mechanical construction. Excellent communication and customer management skills. Current full NZ Driver's Licence.
