Tractor Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with a strong background working on tractors and agricultural machinery for a workshop-based role in Matamata. The position offers $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience , approximately 45 hours per week , and a work ute . The role is mainly workshop-based, although some field-service and breakdown work may be required. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Servicing, diagnosing and repairing tractors and agricultural machinery Carrying out engine, gearbox and transmission repairs or rebuilds Completing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults Attending occasional field-service jobs and breakdowns Maintaining accurate service and repair records Working independently while supporting the wider workshop team To be considered, you must have proven experience working on tractors or agricultural machinery. Engine or transmission rebuild experience would be highly regarded, while exposure to earthmoving machinery would be an advantage. This role is not suitable for candidates with an automotive-only background. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
