Activator & Top Team Lead - Primary School Aged Tamariki Primary Sports Canterbury – Christchurch, South Island The Canterbury Primary Schools Sports Association (PSC) is dedicated to fostering the physical, mental, and social well-being of tamariki (children) through engaging sports and physical activities. We believe in providing an inclusive, fun, and supportive environment where young people can grow and develop their skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Activator to join our passionate team. About the role: The Activator and Top Team Lead will be an inspirational leader, responsible for creating dynamic, age-specific physical activity sessions for tamariki. As a core member of the PSC team, you will deliver engaging, inclusive activities that encourage participation and foster growth in a variety of settings. Your role will span across PSC events, activations, and potentially other stakeholder-driven initiatives, helping to inspire and motivate the next generation. Building and maintaining quality relationships with members and external stakeholders. Continually improving personal knowledge, understanding, and delivery models. Designing and preparing inclusive, participant-centered activations and lessons. Maintaining clear and regular communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding involvement opportunities. Coordinating and sourcing necessary human and equipment resources for activations. Delivering activations and lessons using best practice models for high engagement and inclusion. Monitoring and reflecting on activations and lessons, making improvements as needed. Adapting delivery to fit changing environments. Interacting with participants in an inspiring, encouraging, and inclusive manner. Linking operations to current PSC strategic objectives. Ensuring a safe work environment for all. Providing support at other PSC events and activations when available. As the successful candidate, you will have: A passion for engaging and inspiring tamariki through physical activity. Experience in delivering physical activity, sports coaching, or teaching is an advantage. Ability to create and deliver lessons or activations for different age groups. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage various stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage resources effectively. Flexible and adaptable approach to working in dynamic environments. Understanding of health, safety, and well-being requirements in a physical activity context.
