CNC Machinist

Onestaff Dunedin is currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for an immediate start temporary assignment of approximately 8–12 weeks. This role would suit a CNC Machinist with at least 3 years' experience who is confident operating CNC lathes and can work independently in a production environment. The work will predominantly involve CNC lathe operations on mid-sized components, generally in the 100–150mm range. This is a good opportunity for someone with solid practical machining experience who is looking for an immediate short-term assignment. About the Role The workshop operates a wide range of modern CNC machinery, providing a varied and well-equipped production environment. The role will primarily involve: Operating CNC lathes Machining mid-sized components, generally 100–150mm Setting and operating machinery Reading and interpreting engineering drawings Measuring and checking components to specification Working independently to production requirements Maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality What We're Looking For 3+ years' CNC machining experience Previous CNC lathe experience Ability to work independently in a production environment Good understanding of machining processes and quality requirements Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Fagor control experience/familiarity highly desirable Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Reliable and available for the duration of the assignment Good health and safety awareness The Workshop The company operates a large range of CNC equipment, including vertical and horizontal lathes, machining centres and borers with a range of control systems.
