Job Description

New World Rototuna is seeking a reliable Inward Goods Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in ensuring our stock is received, stored, and processed accurately and efficiently. As the first point of contact for incoming deliveries, you will support the Inward Goods Manager in managing the daily flow of stock. From receiving deliveries at the back door through to ensuring products are ready for the shop floor, you'll help maintain smooth operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and security. Key Responsibilities Stock Management Unload and receive deliveries efficiently and safely. Check and reconcile stock against delivery manifests. Ensure accurate stock rotation and appropriate storage of goods. Use RF scanners and inventory systems to maintain stock accuracy. Quality Control Inspect incoming goods for damage, discrepancies, or shortages. Process supplier claims and credits promptly and accurately. Ensure all products meet company quality standards. Safety & Compliance Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all Health & Safety requirements. Conduct regular equipment checks, including forklifts and pallet jacks. Follow all operational procedures and compliance standards. Security Manage and monitor rear-door access and delivery areas. Ensure warehouse and stock areas remain secure and accessible only to authorised personnel. Operational Excellence Prioritise the handling of perishable, chilled, frozen, and promotional products. Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work environment. Assist with stocktakes and inventory control activities as required. What You'll Bring Current Forklift Licence (mandatory). Minimum 1-2 years' experience in an Inwards Goods, Storeroom, or Warehouse role, preferably within retail or wholesale. Experience using RF scanners and SAP or similar inventory management systems. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Good numeracy skills and attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work. Ability to build positive working relationships with suppliers, delivery drivers, and team members. Experience within the FMCG, supermarket, or fresh food industry . Full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence. Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. A strong commitment to health, safety, and operational excellence.
