off the track hospitality limited - Hastings, North Island Chef De Partie positions are available to help at Off The Track Hospitality's 2 restaurants and 1 bar across the Hastings/Havelock Region. You will be responsible for managing a specific station or section of the kitchen, such as the grill, sauté, pastry, or appetizer station, ensuring that dishes are cooked to the highest standards of quality and consistency. Key responsibilities Manage a specific station or section of the kitchen and oversee all food preparation and cooking tasks for the assigned station Prepare ingredients, cook food items, and assemble dishes according to recipes and instructions provided by the head chef or sous chef Ensure that mise en place is properly set up and that all ingredients are prepared and portioned correctly Oversee the cooking process for dishes on the station, using appropriate cooking techniques and methods to achieve desired results Ensure that dishes are cooked to order and plated attractively before being sent out to the dining room Monitor the quality and appearance of dishes on the station, ensuring that they meet the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size Provide training and supervision to junior kitchen staff assigned to the station Assist with inventory management for ingredients and supplies used on the station, including monitoring stock levels and ordering ingredients as needed Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and cleanliness standards Coordinate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that orders are prepared and served in a timely manner About you 2 years' experience Work well with the team Enthusiastic about creating dishes to maintain high standards Able to work well under pressure and keep up with fast paced restaurant environment Willing to both teach and learn new skills Interested in developing menu ideas Passion for cooking and commitment to excellence in the culinary field About us Off The Track Hospitality operates 3 venues across the Hastings/Havelock Region.
