Senior Passive Fire Foreperson

Contego is looking for an experienced Senior Passive Fire Foreperson to join our growing Auckland team. We are particularly interested in speaking with someone who has established themselves as a strong Foreperson or site leader, knows Passive Fire inside and out, and is now looking for an opportunity with more responsibility and a genuine pathway towards Project Management in the future. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will lead site delivery, coordinate the team, maintain high technical and quality standards and work closely with our Auckland Regional Passive Fire Manager as we continue to grow the operation. The Role You will take the lead on assigned sites and be responsible for: Planning and coordinating daily and weekly site activities Leading, directing and developing Installers and other site personnel Driving productivity while maintaining high standards of workmanship Ensuring installations comply with approved Passive Fire systems and project requirements Managing QA completion and ensuring work is properly documented before concealment Coordinating access, sequencing and work areas with head contractors and other trades Identifying technical, programme or site issues early and helping drive practical solutions Maintaining strong H&S standards and leading by example Managing materials, tools and site resources effectively Communicating professionally with clients, contractors and project teams Keeping management informed of progress, risks, changed conditions and potential variations As the Auckland Passive Fire team develops, there will also be opportunities to become increasingly involved in the wider aspects of project delivery and build the skills required to progress toward a Project Manager role. About you You will already have strong Passive Fire experience and be confident taking ownership of site delivery. We are looking for someone with: Strong Passive Fire installation and technical knowledge Proven experience leading teams and running construction sites The ability to read plans, details and construction information A good understanding of construction sequencing and coordination Strong QA and compliance standards The confidence to deal directly with main contractors, clients and other trades Good organisation, communication and problem-solving skills A practical leadership style and willingness to lead from the front A current New Zealand driver's licence Relevant manufacturer training and an NZQA Level 3 Passive Fire qualification or equivalent experience would be an advantage.
