Te Tūranga - The Role We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Alliance Nelson Plant. This is a key role, critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment. This position operates on a rotating shift roster 45 hours per week. Reporting To The Engineering Manager, Your Responsibilities Will Include Maintaining high Health & Safety standards at all times Installing, maintaining, and supporting plant and operational equipment Responding to and resolving breakdowns efficiently Carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly checks and servicing Planning and executing reactive and preventative maintenance Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to minimise plant downtime Diagnosing faults and determining root causes Repairing or replacing faulty components Supporting ongoing engineering stores management To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring A minimum Level 4 Engineering qualification Hands‑on experience in fitting, machining, and/or welding A strong commitment to Health & Safety Effective problem‑solving skills and innovative thinking Strong communication and interpersonal skills Good documentation and record‑keeping abilities Flexibility to work a rotating roster Experience in a food production or manufacturing environment (preferred) An electrical qualification would be an advantage Ngā painga - what’s in it for you?
