Assistant Logistics and Warehousing Manager (2IC) Bigsave Furniture – Christchurch, South Island Christchurch Warehouse | Full-Time | Sunday to Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Join our high-performing Christchurch Warehouse team and play a critical role in keeping Big Save moving. Our Christchurch site is the heart of our distribution network, ensuring furniture and beds are received, stored, and delivered accurately and efficiently throughout New Zealand. We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Logistics and Warehousing Manager (2IC) to support the South Island Logistics and Warehousing Manager in leading our warehouse operations. This is not a desk-bound role—you'll spend much of your time on the warehouse floor, working alongside the team, driving operational excellence, and helping ensure the warehouse runs smoothly every day. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse supervisor, team leader, or senior warehouse team member looking to take the next step into leadership. About the Role As the second-in-charge of our Christchurch Warehouse, you'll work closely with the South Island Logistics and Warehousing Manager to support all aspects of warehouse operations, distribution, inventory control, compliance, and team performance. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the day-to-day management of warehouse and distribution operations. Leading the team in the Warehouse Manager's absence. Assisting with staff supervision, training, coaching, and performance management. Managing inbound and outbound goods processes. Maintaining accurate inventory control and system records. Processing warehouse transactions and reporting through company systems. Coordinating stock movements and deliveries with internal teams. Working closely with Project Management, Sales, Customer Support, and Logistics teams. Ensuring delivery, quality, and customer service standards are consistently achieved. Supporting Health & Safety, MPI, and Biosecurity compliance requirements. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. About You You're a positive and reliable team player who enjoys leading by example and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves. You have a strong understanding of warehouse operations and are ready to grow your leadership skills. To be successful, you'll have: Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment. Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring team members. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. MPI experience Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Outlook, and warehouse systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A proactive approach to Health & Safety. The ability to perform physical warehouse duties, including lifting and moving furniture products. A current forklift licence (advantageous but not essential). Why Join Big Save?
