Job Description

Your main focus will be helping customers find the right product for their needs and budget, while making sure the showroom is presented to a high standard and the store runs smoothly. This is a part-time position, typically 3–4 days per week and includes Sunday, with the flexibility to work additional days or hours when required to cover leave, holidays or other busy periods. You'll work alongside the Store Manager on some rostered days, while at other times you'll be trusted to run the store independently. Key responsibilities Welcoming customers and providing friendly, knowledgeable service Understanding customer needs and recommending suitable products Completing sales, taking payments and arranging orders and deliveries Maintaining a clean, attractive and well-presented showroom Ensuring products, pricing and promotional material are presented correctly Opening and closing the store Completing normal start-of-day and end-of-day procedures Answering phone and customer enquiries Following up customer quotes and sales opportunities Taking responsibility for the smooth running of the store when working independently Working closely with the Store Manager to achieve store sales and service goals About you Has previous retail, sales or customer service experience preferable Is confident working independently and being solely responsible for the store when required Is trustworthy, reliable and well organised Enjoys talking to customers and building rapport Has a genuine interest in helping customers make the right purchase Is comfortable asking for the sale without using high-pressure sales tactics Takes pride in keeping a showroom looking its best Can follow established store procedures Has good basic computer and point-of-sale skills Is physically capable of the normal day-to-day requirements of a retail showroom. There will be some lifting involved.
