Services span audio-visual integration, electrical infrastructure, security and access control, smart automation, networking and Wi-Fi, and specialist solutions such as video conferencing and digital signage. Role Description The Senior Electrical & Automation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Auckland, responsible for delivering high-quality electrical and automation installations across commercial and residential projects. Day-to-day tasks include installing and commissioning electrical infrastructure, smart automation systems, and integrated technologies such as AV, security, and networking. The role involves diagnosing and resolving electrical and automation issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with design specifications. The technician collaborates closely with project managers, builders, architects, and other stakeholders to interpret plans, provide technical input, and complete projects on schedule and to a high standard. This position also supports junior team members, maintains accurate documentation, and upholds compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and company quality standards. Qualifications Strong electrical foundation, including practical experience with electricity and safe installation practices. Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostics for electrical, automation, and integrated technology systems. Hands-on experience with automation and robotics in building or industrial environments. Ability to plan and perform preventive maintenance on electrical, automation, and control systems. Relevant electrical trade qualification or license, with experience in commercial and/or high-end residential projects. Familiarity with AV, security, networking, and smart home or building automation platforms is highly beneficial. Strong communication skills, ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
