An opportunity has arisen on our Blenheim Campus for a Tutorial Assistant in our Foundation Studies Programme Area. This is a fixed term, part time position (4 days per week, 28.8 hours/week) immediate start - 19 November 2026. The successful applicant will support our Foundations learners aged 15-24 years. Classroom hours are Monday to Thursday between 9am - 3pm. This role is primarily face to face helping learners build confidence and achieve success The successful applicant will be required to: Support learners with understanding literacy and numeracy tasks Support the tutor both in the classroom and on field trips Perform classroom admin tasks as required by the tutor To be successful in this role you will ideally have: Experience working with young people A passion for helping young people thrive Culturally inclusive practices A willingness to have fun and respond to learner needs The following attributes would also be an advantage: Access to free onsite parking Excellent employee benefits Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) is a government owned, NZQA Category One tertiary education institute.
