Job Description
Manaaki Ora Trust is a kaupapa Māori organisation that has grown from the aspirations of Te Arawa to ensure Māori are healthy, live well and are able to access the services and support that they need. Kō wai koe / About you: Peer Support is about using your own experience of recovery from addiction to connect with, give hope to and empower others who are in the care of the prison. You must be comfortable working with groups and be prepared to work in a kaupapa Māori way. Joining a team who are passionate about supporting tāne realize their potential, you will be mature with the right disposition to work in this highly challenging environment. Preferably a relevant level 4 qualification in health, education or Māori arts A minimum of 4 years in recovery Ability to facilitate group learning experiences Ideally, be affiliated to mana whenua or Pasifika peoples Annual wellness contribution Regular supervision Professional development and training opportunities A positive and supportive team and organisation Applications close Monday 9am 25 August 2026.
