Here’s a superb opportunity to join the business in a senior capacity. We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Design Manager to lead their engineering design function. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a technical leadership role - ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands‑on engineering and team leadership, with a high level of commercial awareness and relevant industry expertise. You will be based in Auckland, with responsibility for projects nationwide. You will work closely with key stakeholders in the business across manufacturing, project delivery and sales teams, to ensure all HVAC design projects are compliant, buildable, and delivered on time. About the role: Lead and manage the engineering design team - owning design quality, compliance and performance across the business Act as senior technical lead with clients, consultants, councils and fire engineers Deliver product designs from concept through detailed design, construction, and commissioning Ensure compliance with NZ Building Code, relevant AS/NZS standards, and client requirements Set and maintain design standards, templates, and best-practice guidelines Review and approve technical calculations, drawings, and documentation Manage design resources to meet programme, budget, and quality targets Support tenders, estimating, system selection and value engineering Resolve technical issues, manage design changes and mitigate technical risk Drive continuous improvement in design efficiency, constructability, and digital workflows (BIM/Revit) My client, Price Holyoake, is one of New Zealand and Australia's leading manufacturers of engineered air management solutions. You bring strong knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant AS/NZS HVAC standards You're highly technically competent and excel at reviewing and approving technical calculations and drawings You are a clear and effective communicator, with both technical and non-technical stakeholders You're expert in SolidWorks CAD You have relevant experience across commercial, industrial, healthcare manufacturing HVAC projects Detail-focused, delivery-oriented, and solutions-driven You're passionate about continuous improvement and better ways of working An engineering degree or senior qualification would be an advantage Benefits: There’s no doubt that this is a smart career move for a dynamic and experienced Engineering Design Manager.
