Clinic Operations Manager - Rolleston After Hours Phoenix Healthcare Group - Rolleston, South Island Clinic Operations Manager - Rolleston After Hours Phoenix Healthcare Group | Rolleston, Selwyn $100,000 FTE equivalent - pro-rated for contracted hours Fixed term to June 2027 | Management Position Take ownership of a busy After Hours clinic Phoenix Healthcare Group is looking for an experienced Clinic Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our Rolleston After Hours Primary Care service. This is a hands-on management role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will be the senior operational lead onsite during each shift, responsible for keeping the clinic running efficiently, managing patient flow, supporting staff and ensuring patients move through the service safely and professionally. This is a non-clinical management position. Clinical assessment, triage and treatment remain the responsibility of our nurses, GPs and Nurse Practitioners. The role You will take ownership of the operational performance of the clinic during after-hours service, including: Managing patient flow from arrival through to discharge Overseeing reception and front-of-house operations Leading and supporting the team working on shift Coordinating with clinical staff to manage clinic capacity and patient demand Monitoring the waiting room and escalating concerns promptly to the clinical team Managing patient communication during busy periods Ensuring operational issues are dealt with quickly and effectively Managing staffing requirements and coordinating roster cover Ensuring the clinic is appropriately staffed and operationally ready for each shift Supporting consistent processes, service standards and patient experience Acting as the primary operational escalation point during the shift Liaising with Phoenix Healthcare Group's wider management and support teams You won't simply be supervising a reception desk. You’ll be responsible for keeping the entire clinic operation moving. Who we're looking for We are looking for an experienced manager who can walk into a busy healthcare environment, quickly understand what is happening and take control of the operation. Ideally, you will have experience in: Medical practice management Primary care or urgent care Hospital or healthcare operations Patient flow or service coordination Leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams You’ll need strong leadership, excellent judgement and the confidence to make operational decisions in a busy environment. You will be calm under pressure, highly organised and comfortable managing staff, patients, competing priorities and unexpected issues simultaneously. Previous healthcare management or senior healthcare administration experience is strongly preferred. Experience using Indici Practice Management Software would be highly advantageous. Hours The current roster is: Monday: 4.45pm-8.15pm Tuesday: 4.45pm-8.15pm Friday: 4.45pm-8.15pm Saturday: 8.45am-5.15pm Sunday: 8.45am-5.15pm Wednesday and Thursday are rostered days off. There may be flexibility around Tuesday for the right candidate. Availability across both Saturday and Sunday is essential. Why this role?
