Yard Manager — Onehunga Endless — the metal recycler Lead a team, run a yard, make a material difference At Endless, we don't just recycle metal — we're on a mission to build a world without wastefulness. We're New Zealand-owned, growing fast, and we're looking for a natural leader to run the day-to-day operation of our Onehunga yard. You don't need a background in metal recycling. You do need a proven track record of successfully running an operational team — think manufacturing, construction, or another fast-paced, hands-on environment. If you can lead people, run a site, and own the numbers, we'll teach you everything you need to know about this genuinely exciting industry. What you'll be doing You'll take full ownership of the Onehunga yard, leading a team of up to 30 employees, supported by 2 supervisors , to deliver a safe, efficient and profitable operation from material intake through to outbound quality. Day to day, you'll: Own the safe, efficient and profitable running of the yard end-to-end — plant, people, stock and process Drive increased profitability by keeping processing safe, efficient and running at full capacity — every tonne handled right, first time Build, lead and develop your team — setting the standard, holding people accountable, rostering and resourcing, and growing their careers Champion a strong health, safety and environmental culture across the site Own the yard budget and stock control, with full accountability for everything on the ground Constantly look for smarter, safer and more efficient ways to do things — refining processes, lifting throughput and driving initiatives that improve yield, cycle time and cost per tonne Coordinate processing across the yard to meet the requirements of the export packing plan Keep the site running to a high operational and presentation standard your team can be proud of Deliver a strong customer experience as part of a well-run yard — from members of the public to commercial customers What you'll bring Proven experience successfully leading a similar-sized operational team (5+ years managing people) A genuine ability to lead a multicultural team — you understand and respect different backgrounds, and you know how to bring people together around a common goal Strong, firm-but-fair leadership with a natural ability to develop people Solid financial literacy — comfortable owning a budget and interpreting management accounts A sharp eye for detail and a hands-on, get-it-done attitude Excellent communication skills A current Second-hand Dealers Licence (or the ability to obtain one) No metal recycling experience?
