Global Interior Building Limited – Dunedin, South Island GLOBAL BUILDING is seeking an experienced Qualified LBP Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position within our building trades division, offering the opportunity to contribute your expertise to high-quality interior building projects throughout Dunedin and Central Otago. As a Qualified LBP Carpenter, you will be at the forefront of our construction operations, ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant building regulations and safety requirements. This role is essential to our continued success and reputation for delivering exceptional craftsmanship in the building industry. What you'll be doing Executing carpentry work on residential and commercial building projects with precision and attention to detail Reading and interpreting building plans, specifications and technical drawings to ensure accurate construction Preparing and treating timber and other materials in accordance with project requirements and building standards Installing structural elements including framing, flooring systems and roof structures Fitting and installing interior components such as doors, windows, architraves, skirting boards and custom joinery Ensuring all work complies with the Building Code and relevant health and safety legislation Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order and conducting regular safety inspections Collaborating effectively with other trades and team members to ensure seamless project delivery Identifying potential issues or defects and implementing appropriate solutions Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used on site What we're looking for A current, valid Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) licence in the carpentry category Extensive experience as a qualified carpenter with a proven track record in residential and/or commercial construction A thorough understanding of the New Zealand Building Code and all relevant building regulations Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and technical drawings Strong knowledge of timber selection, preparation and treatment methods Competency in a wide range of carpentry techniques including framing, joinery and finishing Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team A commitment to health and safety standards and best practice on site Reliability and professionalism, with strong communication skills Knowledge of sustainable building practices would be advantageous A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the Dunedin and Central Otago region What we offer At GLOBAL BUILDING, we value our skilled team members and provide a supportive working environment that recognises your expertise.
