HEB Construction is a dynamic and innovative leader in the construction of New Zealand's Infrastructure. We are involved with a variety of projects from road construction and maintenance through to earthworks, drainage, marine works, and major projects of national significance. We are seeking a motivated Environmental Advisor to join us on a 12-month fixed-term parental leave cover, championing the delivery of environmental management solutions across our projects and ensuring compliance with project requirements, environmental standards, and regulatory obligations. Working closely with the Environmental Regional Partner and project delivery teams, you'll provide practical environmental guidance and support the successful delivery of a range of infrastructure projects. About You You’ll bring: 2+ years' experience in an environmental advisory role or similar within the construction industry Knowledge of NZ environmental legislation Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with project teams and stakeholders Strong organisational skills and attention to detail A collaborative approach and commitment to driving positive environmental outcomes across projects It would also be advantageous if you have: A tertiary qualification in an environmental related field Experience engaging with councils, regulators, mana whenua/iwi, and community stakeholders Strong understanding of environmental risks and controls associated with a range of construction methodologies Key Responsibilities Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Supporting project teams to meet environmental and compliance requirements Developing and maintaining Environmental Management Plans and documentation Conducting monitoring, inspections, and compliance audits Investigating environmental incidents and driving continuous improvement Providing environmental input into project planning and delivery Delivering training and promoting environmental best practice across projects What we offer At HEB, you’re not just joining a team, you’re joining a workplace that genuinely looks out for you.
