About the Role As a Clinical Psychologist (iCAMHS, MentalHealth), you will be working with infants, children and adolescents withmoderate to severe mental health needs up to the age of 18 years. As part ofthe Nelson / Tasman -based teams, you will be working closely alongside other psychologistsand be part of a larger multidisciplinary team. You will be working either inthe Nelson, Motueka and/or Golden Bay ICAMHS outpatient clinics As part of this team, you will be involved inmanaging psychology referrals and providing psychological perspectives at MDTfor routine and complex cases. As a member of APEX you will be able to access a significantContinuing Professional Development fund and will be supported by your managerto attend relevant trainings. You will receive collegial support via your local and thewider psychology team. You are also strongly encouraged to participate in andinitiate service development projects as appropriate. You will also beencouraged to take up opportunities which expose you to organisational andoperational matters as they occur. There are opportunities for providing supervision topsychology colleagues and colleagues of other disciplines. This is a permanent, full-time role working 80 hours perfortnight (1.0 FTE), Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8.00AM to 4.30PM. Please view the position description for furtherinformation. About the Team/Service/ Location The Psychological Team ~ we are a team of over 25psychologists located across Nelson, Blenheim and Golden Bay. We are a generalist service, althoughwherever possible we can support you to further personal interests and theprovision of psychological services to sub speciality fields. We work across,adult, child, addictions, inpatient and health services. We value collegiality and are looking for someone who sharesthis approach. We need someone who has an aptitude for working within a publicfunded health system. We are committed to ensuring clinicians are engaged inongoing professional development and that they have the right supervision tosupport them in this. Both the NZ Psychological Society and the NZ College ofClinical Psychologist have active branches in the Nelson area and provideopportunities for members to attend training and maintain connections withpsychologists in private practice. We have links with tertiary institutions and supporttraining programmes through student placements and internships. You can mentorand or supervise students on placement. For more information on living and working in Nelson click here About you As a Clinical Psychologist, you will: Have post-registrationexperience in a mental health setting and up-to-date knowledge ofpsychological interventions relating to mental health issues; Have excellentinterpersonal and organisations skills and will be an active participantin our multidisciplinary teams; Be the type of person who fits into a cohesiveteam culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect acrossdisciplines; Engender confidence, trust and rapport withclients and their support networks; Be passionate about providing psychological interventions for infants, children,adolescents and their families.
