We’relooking for a Governance & Platform Enablement Lead – Artificial Intelligence to play a key role in enabling safe, effective, and trusted AI use across the organisation. This is a specialist role responsible for defining, embedding, and enabling governance frameworks and ways of working acrossDairyNZ’sfull AI estate. This includes generative AI, machine learning models, automated decision systems, and AI capabilities embedded within enterprise platforms. You’llact as a bridge between strategy, governance, and delivery—establishingthe guardrails and tooling needed to support innovation while managing risk, privacy, security, and compliance. This is a hands-on role, whereyou’llimplement governance within platforms and support teams to design, build, and use AI solutions responsibly and effectively. You’llcollaborate with Data, AI and Content platform leads to design and deliver innovation workshops—exploring new ways to support farmers, strengthen research, and enhanceDairyNZ’seffectiveness through smarter use of technology and modern ways of working. WhatYou’llBe Doing Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, you will lead the Digital Technology team,across the following areas: AI governance & standards Define and embed governance frameworks across the full AI ecosystem Develop standards for AI lifecycle management, risk assessment, monitoring, and oversight Ensure governance is integrated into AI workflows, from ideation through to deployment and retirement Establish roles and responsibilities across AI governance (e.g. product owners, stewards, risk stakeholders) Provide onboarding, playbooks, and coaching to support safe and effective AI use Continuously improve governance approaches in response to evolving technology and regulatory requirements Platform configuration & leadership Translate governance standards into platform configuration across AI tools and environments Implement controls including access, monitoring, lifecycle, and review processes Partner with technical teams to ensure AI solutions remaining governed, secure, and fit for purpose Aboutyou You’llbring strong experience across AI, data, or technology governance, combined with the ability to work both strategically and hands-on.You’recomfortable navigating complexity and enabling others to adoptnew technologieswith confidence. We’dlove to hear from you if you have: Experience in AI, data, or technology governance (ideally 5+ years) Strong communicationskills, with the ability to translate technical AI concepts for different audiences Experience with AI platforms and tools (e.g. Microsoft AI services, Purview, Copilot or similar) The ability to influence and build relationships across business and technical teams A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong analytical capability Experience supporting organisations to adopt AI safely whilemaintaininggovernance and oversight Why you should join us Make a difference-Together with our farmers, help us drive positive progress for the sector and country we love.
