New Zealand Defence Force – Wellington, North Island Join Defence Health and help develop, manage, and publish policies that support healthcare services across the NZDF. This varied role combines policy development, document management, and publishing, ensuring policies and processes are clear, accurate, accessible, and compliant while providing trusted advice across the organisation. Key responsibilities include: Review and maintain Defence Health policies and supporting documentation. Manage policy publication systems, including monthly publishing, formatting, editing, and document control. Maintain policy registers, amendment processes, and ensure approved changes are accurately implemented. Provide policy advice and contribute to projects that support the Defence Health policy programme. Support policy content owners in the development of Defence Health policy and other publications. Use tools such as InDesign, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Word and Visio to deliver high-quality policy products. Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there may be the option to work from home up to 2 days per week. We're seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong technical writing, publishing, and policy development skills. You'll be comfortable managing high volumes of complex information, progressing multiple policies concurrently, and building effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups while delivering high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment. Skills and experience include: Strong technical writing, editing, and policy development skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Proficiency in InDesign, Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, and Visio. Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, with the abilities to translate complex information into practical guidance and to identify inconsistencies and propose practical solutions. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across a diverse range of audiences. Highly organised, adaptable, and quality-focused, with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering accurate, professional outcomes. An understanding of medical terminology and/or NZDF publications would be welcomed. Higher Level Security Clearance You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa. At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years. You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
