Assistant Front Office Manager - DoubleTree By Hilton Wellington DoubleTree by Hilton – Wellington Central, North Island DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Front Office Manager to join our Front Office leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional looking to advance their career with one of the world's leading hotel brands. As Assistant Front Office Manager, you will support the Front Office Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Front Office department, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient operations, and strong team performance. You will play a key role in driving service excellence, maintaining Hilton brand standards, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing daily Front Office operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery. Lead, supervise, and motivate Front Office team members during shifts. Ensure seamless guest check-in and check-out experiences in accordance with Hilton standards. Handle guest concerns, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally. Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of Front Office team members. Monitor room inventory, occupancy levels, and guest arrivals/departures in coordination with Reservations and Revenue teams. Ensure accurate cash handling, financial transactions, and end-of-shift reporting. Maintain operational knowledge of Hilton Property Management Systems and associated Front Office applications. Conduct daily briefings and communicate key operational updates to the team. Work closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience. Assist with roster management, performance reviews, and departmental administration. Act as Manager on Duty when required and respond to emergency situations in accordance with hotel procedures. Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and security procedures. What We're Looking For Minimum three (3) years' Front Office management experience within a Hilton hotel environment . Where a candidate does not possess the required Hilton experience, consideration may be given to candidates holding an NZQCF Level 4 or higher qualification in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Tourism, Business Management or a related field, together with significant Front Office leadership experience within an international branded hotel environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Strong knowledge of Hilton PMS systems, Front Office technology & procedures, and guest service standards. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop team members. Excellent customer service and guest relations abilities, with a focus on problem-solving. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels. Exceptional organisational and time management abilities. High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to service excellence. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and overnight shifts when required. Current eligibility to work in New Zealand. Preferred Experience within an international branded hotel environment. Knowledge of Hilton Honors, Hilton commercial standards and Hilton brand requirements. Additional hospitality, tourism or business qualifications.
