We have an opening for a Reservations Co-ordinator to support the sales and logistics areas at Trail Journeys. We are seeking a motivated and detail orientated Reservations professional to join our fun and dynamic team. A passion for travel and first hand active holiday experience is essential. With the ability to work autonomously at times, but as part of a wider distributed team, this position is ideal for those wishing to continue in their career in travel or office admin or to perhaps return to the travel industry. Ideally you will have a track record in the travel industry in a reservations capacity, a great knowledge of New Zealand and the rest of the world and most importantly, a friendly and efficient working style. About the role This roleis full time with a requirement to work some weekends in season (October to April) and is based in Clyde, Central Otago. The role involves the servicing of customer and travel agent files through the full reservations process and specifically entails: Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and colleagues Support sales and operational staff Great attention to detail and accuracy of documentation Use of multiple electronic systems. Accommodation and other outsource bookings and Reservations Servicingof client and travel agents files Reservation management of private/specialty groups Managing client deposits and full payments Dealing with operators, checking invoices and confirming arrangements Operational support Assisting Operations team with any other requests or duties (updating of trip notes, database maintenance/entry, groups, stock control, availability etc) About You To be considered for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following competencies: Self-sufficiency and enjoyment of working in a small team environment A minimum of 2 years in the travel industry and preferably with adventure travel specialisation (although someone with the right skills with no travel industry experience will be considered) First hand travel experience Excellent attention to detail Great communication and organisational skills Excellent writing skills Lateral thinker Ability to use initiative Comfortable and capable with technology The ability to react well to taking direction About us Trail Journeys is the original Cycle Tour operator on the Otago Central Rail Trail (23yrs). We operate on trails in the Queenstown, Central Otago and Mt Cook/Oamaru areas. We’re made up of a small friendly, hardworking team who are passionate about delivering the best tour experience to our clients. Our main office is located in the heart of Central Otago – Clyde. The business is growing, and we are seeking a competent Reservations Coordinator.
