About the business We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Christchurch construction company with an outstanding reputation for quality workmanship, strong client relationships and a supportive team culture. With a healthy pipeline of work already secured, the business continues to grow and is looking to add another experienced Qualified Carpenter to the team. Projects are varied and include commercial interior fit-outs, medical facilities, renovations, landscaping and selected residential work, providing plenty of variety and the opportunity to broaden your experience. About the role This is a hands‑on role suited to an experienced Qualified Carpenter who enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering quality work. Working across a range of commercial and residential projects, you'll be trusted to manage your own work, communicate professionally with clients and work closely with other trades to deliver successful outcomes. You’ll also play an important role in supporting apprentices and contributing to the positive team culture that has become a key part of this business’s success. Key responsibilities Deliver high-quality carpentry across a variety of projects Read and interpret construction plans Work independently while managing your own workload Coordinate effectively with other trades and subcontractors Maintain excellent workmanship and attention to detail Communicate professionally with clients on site Mentor and support apprentices where required Follow safe working practices at all times About you You’re someone who enjoys producing quality work and takes genuine pride in what you do. You’re equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team, communicate well with clients and colleagues, and understand that your attitude is just as important as your technical ability. You will likely have: New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) or recognised equivalent Solid experience as a qualified carpenter Ability to read and interpret plans Commercial construction experience (highly regarded) Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Full New Zealand Driver Licence A positive, team-first attitude Pride in delivering quality workmanship What's on offer Competitive hourly rate depending on experience Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours Phone, tablet and specialist equipment provided Variety of interesting commercial and residential projects Stable business with a strong forward workload Supportive owners who value their team Opportunity to mentor apprentices and continue developing your career A workplace where culture and teamwork genuinely matter #J-18808-Ljbffr
