This is a diverse position where every week looks a little different. Mondays and Tuesdays are based between Head Office and the Canterbury Saleyards, where you'll be part of the action, supporting our livestock agents and helping ensure sale days run smoothly. You'll work closely with agents, transport operators, vendors, purchasers and industry stakeholders while processing livestock information in real time. The remainder of the week is based at our Christchurch Head Office, where you'll coordinate NAIT administration, livestock procurement processes and provide general administrative support to the wider team. From time to time, you'll also have the opportunity to assist at on-farm sales and clearing sales, providing administration support at these events. Key responsibilities Coordinate administration for weekly saleyard operations. Process livestock sale information accurately and efficiently. Coordinate NAIT registrations and animal movement requirements. Ensure compliance with NAIT legislation and company procedures. Provide administration support for livestock procurement activities. Liaise with livestock agents, farmers, transport operators, meat companies and other industry stakeholders. Maintain accurate livestock records and databases. Prepare reports and reconcile documentation. Provide administrative support to the wider Rural Livestock team. Assist with on-farm and clearing sale administration as required. About you You’ll be someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in producing accurate work, and is comfortable working with a wide range of people Previous administration experience. Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Excellent organisational and time management skills. The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and customer service skills. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. The ability to work independently while also being a supportive team member. Experience within the rural or livestock industry would be an advantage, but we are equally happy to train someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn. Hours of Work This is a full-time position averaging 37.5 hours per week. As the role supports weekly livestock sales, your hours will vary across the week. Mondays and Tuesdays may require earlier starts or later finishes depending on sale operations.
