Mill Operator - Stockfood Manufacturing

GrainHub is looking for an experienced and reliable Mill Operator to join our stockfeed manufacturing team at our Tuakau mill. This is a hands-on production role responsible for operating and monitoring feed milling, batching and pelletising equipment. We are looking for someone who is mechanically minded, comfortable working around industrial machinery and, importantly, interested in becoming a long-term member of our production team. This is not simply a general labouring position. The successful applicant will progressively take responsibility for operating production equipment, following feed formulations, monitoring product quality and identifying issues before they result in unnecessary downtime. Key responsibilities Operating feed milling, batching, mixing and pelletising equipment Following production schedules and feed formulations accurately Monitoring machinery and production parameters Completing production and quality records Carrying out product sampling and basic quality checks Loading and handling raw materials and finished products Identifying machinery or production issues and assisting with troubleshooting Undertaking routine plant inspections, cleaning, lubrication and preventative maintenance Maintaining good housekeeping throughout the mill Following GrainHub's health & safety, feed safety and quality procedures About you Previous experience in feed milling, grain processing, pellet production or a similar industrial processing/manufacturing environment is necessary. Good mechanical aptitude and comfortable understanding how machinery works Experience with pellet mills, hammer mills, mixers or batching systems would be an advantage Experience with grain or stockfeed processing would be an advantage Experience with automated production equipment would be an advantage Experience with bulk-material handling systems would be an advantage Experience with mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting would be an advantage Physically capable of working in a feed-milling environment, including regular manual handling and lifting of up to approximately 25 kg Reliable, safety-conscious, takes ownership of their work and looking for stable, long-term employment About us GrainHub Ltd is a New Zealand-owned stockfeed manufacturer supplying feed and feed ingredients to customers throughout New Zealand.
