We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead our facility and oversee the operational, clinical, financial, and strategic performance of the organisation. About the Role Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of Forrest Hill Home and Hospital, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care while meeting financial, operational, and regulatory objectives. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the day-to-day operations of the Home and Hospital. Ensuring compliance with Health New Zealand standards, contractual obligations, and relevant legislation. Managing budgets, financial performance, and occupancy targets. Providing leadership and support to clinical, administration, and support teams. Driving continuous quality improvement and maintaining accreditation standards. Overseeing Health & Safety, Privacy, and Quality Assurance programmes. Building strong relationships with residents, families, medical professionals, government agencies, and community stakeholders. Managing complaints professionally and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and staff development. Ensuring the facility and grounds are maintained to a high standard. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous senior management experience, preferably within the aged care or health sector. Experience managing operational and financial performance, including budgets and occupancy. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities. A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to older people. Sound knowledge of New Zealand health, employment, privacy, and health and safety legislation. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong computer literacy and experience using management information systems. Essential Requirements New Zealand Registered Nurse. Previous management experience.
