Job Description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. Head of Sales & Business Development - Cybersecurity / PTaaS Help us scale continuous penetration testing across New Zealand and Australia Capture The Bug is a New Zealand-based Penetration Testing as a Service platform helping modern businesses find and fix security vulnerabilities faster. Traditional penetration testing is often slow, periodic and disconnected from how modern engineering teams work. Capture The Bug brings expert-led penetration testing into a collaborative platform, giving customers continuous and on-demand testing, real-time visibility of vulnerabilities, clearer remediation guidance and faster retesting. We support startups, growing SaaS businesses and enterprise organisations across New Zealand, Australia and other international markets. Our CREST-accredited services cover web applications, APIs, mobile applications, cloud environments, network infrastructure and emerging AI systems. Capture The Bug is already operating in New Zealand and working with customers. We are now looking for an experienced cybersecurity sales leader to accelerate our next stage of growth. The opportunity This is a senior, hands‑on commercial position for someone who enjoys winning business, building trusted relationships and shaping how a growing technology company goes to market. You will take ownership of new customer acquisition and commercial growth across New Zealand, while helping us expand into Australia. You will work directly with our founders, technical leadership and penetration‑testing team to turn customer security challenges into effective, long‑term solutions. This is not a role where you will simply manage an established sales team. You will personally develop opportunities, lead customer conversations, build partnerships and close business. You will inherit a strong platform, an established delivery capability, existing customers and credible market foundations. Your role will be to turn those foundations into consistent, scalable growth. What you will do Own and execute Capture The Bug’s sales strategy across New Zealand. Personally identify, qualify, develop and close new business. Build trusted relationships with CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, security leaders, engineering leaders and other senior decision‑makers. Grow relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for recurring and expanded engagements. Position continuous penetration testing as a business, compliance and security outcome—not simply a one‑off technical assessment. Sell PTaaS subscriptions and penetration‑testing programmes covering web, API, mobile, cloud, AI and network environments. Lead discovery meetings, product demonstrations and commercial presentations. Work with our security team to scope engagements and prepare clear, commercially compelling proposals. Build partnerships with MSSPs, technology consultancies, cloud providers, compliance firms, resellers and other referral channels. Maintain a well‑qualified pipeline and provide accurate, evidence‑based revenue forecasts. Represent Capture The Bug at industry events, conferences and customer meetings. Contribute customer and market insights to our product, pricing and service strategy. Help build a repeatable sales process and, as the business grows, contribute to developing the wider commercial team. What success looks like During your first few months, you will: Develop a clear territory, account and partner plan. Build a strong pipeline of relevant opportunities. Create meaningful engagement with target customers and strategic partners. Progress qualified opportunities into demonstrations, proposals and commercial discussions. Establish a disciplined and transparent sales process. Over time, you will: Win new customers across priority New Zealand industries. Expand appropriate customers from individual assessments into ongoing PTaaS relationships. Increase recurring revenue and customer lifetime value. Build productive channel and referral partnerships. Strengthen Capture The Bug’s position as a trusted continuous penetration‑testing partner in New Zealand and Australia. Create a scalable commercial foundation for the company’s next stage of growth. About you You are a commercially driven cybersecurity professional who can create opportunities as well as close them. You are confident speaking with senior executives, but equally comfortable working with penetration testers, engineers and product teams. You will ideally bring: A successful record in B2B cybersecurity, technology or professional‑services sales. Experience winning new customers rather than relying entirely on inherited accounts. Strong professional relationships within the New Zealand technology, SaaS, enterprise or cybersecurity market. Experience managing complex sales from prospecting and discovery through negotiation and closure. Confidence selling to CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, founders, engineering leaders and procurement teams. The ability to explain technical security services in clear commercial language. Strong prospecting, account planning, negotiation, proposal and forecasting skills. A practical understanding of cybersecurity risk, compliance and modern software‑development environments. An consultative approach focused on solving customer problems and building long‑term trust. An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work effectively within a growing company. The right to work in New Zealand. Particularly valuable experience We would be especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following: Penetration Testing as a Service or continuous security testing. Penetration testing, red teaming, application security or vulnerability management. Cybersecurity consulting, managed security or security software. Selling recurring services, subscriptions or annual security programmes. Working with SaaS, fintech, financial services, healthcare, education, government or critical‑infrastructure customers. Building channel relationships with MSSPs, compliance consultancies, cloud providers or technology partners. Developing a new territory, service line or business unit. Selling services connected to ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS or other customer‑assurance requirements. You do not need to be a penetration tester. Your ability to understand customer needs, communicate value and consistently create revenue is more important than holding technical certifications. Why join Capture The Bug? Join a New Zealand cybersecurity company with an established platform, customers and international ambitions. Represent a modern alternative to slow, one‑off penetration‑testing engagements. Work with a CREST‑accredited penetration‑testing provider. Sell a service that combines expert‑led manual testing with the visibility and collaboration of a modern SaaS platform. Work directly with the founders and influence commercial, product and market strategy. Take genuine ownership of the New Zealand market and help shape our Australian expansion. Receive competitive base compensation with an attractive, uncapped performance component. Potential long‑term incentives for an exceptional candidate. Enjoy flexible working arrangements and a high level of autonomy. Ethical business development We value the professional reputation, relationships and market knowledge you have developed during your career. We will never ask candidates to disclose confidential information, transfer restricted customer data or breach obligations to a current or former employer. We are looking for someone who can use their experience and credibility to create new opportunities for Capture The Bug professionally and ethically. #J-18808-Ljbffr
