Job Description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. Own a territory. Change how New Zealand schools run. Business Development Manager Location : Wellington (hybrid), Lower North Island territory Package : Competitive base, uncapped OTE, plus car allowance Reports to : National Sales Manager Selling : In person, by phone, and at education conferences across the region. Tired of your best work going unnoticed? This is a rare chance to own a patch, sell something schools genuinely want, and get rewarded for every win you create. You, your territory, and a product that makes life easier for thousands of families. And a great team plus supportive leader with you! This is a genuinely unique role. It is a tech sales role, but not the kind where you are stuck behind a desk or living on back-to-back virtual calls. It is built around real, in-person selling: face to face with school leaders, out in your region, and at events across the sector. If you are an AE and want to own the full cycle, a BDM craving real autonomy, or a proven performer wanting to break into tech sales with purpose, read on. ABOUT KINDO Kindo is modernising how schools and families manage payments and administration across New Zealand. Too many schools still run on manual systems, spreadsheets, and clunky processes that eat up staff time and frustrate parents. Kindo removes that friction. One simple, digital platform handles payments, permissions, donations, and communication in a single place, giving schools their time back and giving families a far easier experience. Adoption is accelerating nationally, and that is why we are investing in dedicated territory ownership across the lower North Island. THE ROLE This is not transactional SaaS selling. This is trusted-advisor selling into principals and school leaders, built on relationships, credibility, and long-term thinking. You will own your territory end to end: building the pipeline, winning the trust of school leadership, closing new schools, and driving student onboarding growth across the region. You will sell in person, over the phone, and at national education conferences. In other words, you are out in the field meeting people, not stuck behind a desk or on a constant stream of virtual calls. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Prospecting and engaging large primary and secondary schools across your region Running discovery conversations with principals and admin leaders Delivering compelling demos and presentations that show real value Attending on-site visits and national education conferences Building relationships and referral networks that keep your pipeline warm Running your territory like a business with sharp pipeline and CRM discipline WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Commercial drive and ownership. You measure yourself on outcomes, not activity, and you have built your own pipeline before. Consultative selling. You lead with discovery, manage stakeholders, and sell value rather than features. Relationship building. You are credible and professional, and you are at your best face to face. Resilience and consistency. You are comfortable with outbound, follow-up, and longer institutional buying cycles. Organisation and discipline. You forecast accurately and keep your CRM clean. Backgrounds that often fit: we are flexible! At a minimum, B2B and ideal would be SaaS or EdTech BDMs, territory reps selling into schools or government, telco, tech or services B2B hunters, account managers ready to step into full-cycle ownership, and community or education sector sellers with genuine commercial drive. This role is pattern-based, not industry-pure. THE PACKAGE You will be rewarded with a competitive base, uncapped OTE, and a car allowance. The commission structure is simple and transparent, tied directly to the schools you sign and the students you bring onto the platform, and paid regularly. It is clear, visible, and rewards the wins you control, with no ceiling on what you can earn. WHERE IT CAN TAKE YOU Kindo is scaling, and strong performers earn visibility and responsibility quickly. The typical path runs from Territory BDM to Senior BDM or a larger region, and on to national, strategic accounts, or leadership. You will also be backed by ongoing coaching and mentorship through Apprento, so you are never doing it alone. #J-18808-Ljbffr
