We own and manage the network that delivers electricity to some of the fastest growing areas and over the most diverse terrain in Te Waipounamu South Island. We deliver a safe, reliable and sustainable electricity supply to a population of more than 200,000 residents in Ōtepoti Dunedin, Central Otago/Wānaka and Tāhuna Queenstown. Role Purpose This role is accountable for the functional integrity and operational performance of our enterprise asset management system and our project management system. It ensures the strategic system stewardship provided by the executive leadership team is carried out with and ensures full oversight of any changes or upgrades required to maintain the quality of the systems and the data contained within it. The role ensures that every change—whether configuration, enhancement, integration, or vendor release is well-defined, well-tested, and safely implemented and ensures the system remains current and following the strategic lines determined by the executive. Role Responsibilities Remain current with the roadmaps for the solutions and ensure ELT is kept up to date with this to ensure they can keep alignment of the systems with organisational strategy and compliance requirements. Evaluate new solution enhancements, vendor releases, and industrial trends to guide upgrade paths and ensure ELT is made aware of any new opportunities for system advancement or continuous improvement opportunities. Own and prioritise the system enhancement backlog based on value, risk, and in conjunction with IT on technical feasibility. Lead discovery activities to understand business processes, pain points, and improvement opportunities. Analyse impacts of system changes across teams, workflows, and work with IT around integrated systems and data flows. Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and support functions. Follow system governance processes, including change control, risk assessment, and compliance reviews. Work as a team with developers, testers, architects, and vendors to clarify requirements and validate upgrades. Oversee the creation of test cases and ensure they align with business rules and acceptance criteria. Validate test results, assess readiness for release, and sign off on changes prior to deployment. Use data insights to identify optimisation opportunities and guide prioritisation. Skill Requirements Strong experience as a functional solution owner, Senior Business Analyst, or similar role in complex environments. Experience working with Maximo and/or Sentient, or other asset management tools. Demonstrated experience in testing oversight, UAT coordination, and quality assurance. Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and operational support. Technical literacy to collaborate effectively with engineering and architecture teams.’ Why Us?
