Mō te Tari o te Kaitiaki Mana Tangata – About the Ombudsman The Chief Ombudsman works with his staff to help New Zealanders in their dealings with government agencies. The focus is on handling complaints against government agencies, undertaking investigations and inspections, and encouraging good administration. Mō tō mātou tira – About the team The Learning and Capability team is responsible for building and enhancing organisational capability through capability frameworks, leadership development and learning pathways. The team is also responsible for developing learning for use by externals audiences. The team is made up of two Senior roles, three Learning Designers and two Learning Coordinators. Mō te tūranga - About the role We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Learning and Capability team as a Learning Designer. Reporting to the Manager Learning and Capability, you will lead the design and development of learner-centric, innovative, future-focused learning programmes, including organisational and systems learning, operational practice and external agency development programmes. Collaborating closely with internal colleagues and subject matter experts, you will create relevant, engaging, and sustainable learning experiences delivered through diverse channels such as eLearning, face-to-face workshops, webinars, and on-the-job training. He kōrero mōu – About you Two or more years of experience analysing, designing, delivering, and evaluating inclusive adult learning programmes. Proven knowledge of adult learning frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy, 70-20-10, Kirkpatrick). Proficiency with rapid design tools and technologies such as Articulate 360, Chameleon Creator, Adobe Creative Cloud, Powtoon, and Totara LMS. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a succinct, conversational writing style. Effective relationship management, collaboration, and influencing skills across all organisational levels. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
