Are you an experienced heavy diesel mechanic, engineer or workshop supervisor ready to step into a senior leadership role? We are looking for a capable and practical Workshop Foreman / Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our busy heavy diesel, hydraulics and engineering workshop. This is a hands‑on position for someone who understands heavy machinery, hydraulics and engineering, can lead a team, manage workflow, deal with customers and keep jobs moving efficiently. About the role You will be responsible for overseeing workshop operations and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Key responsibilities Managing the day-to-day running of the workshop Planning and allocating work to mechanics, engineers and apprentices Supervising and supporting workshop staff Monitoring job progress, productivity and deadlines Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and heavy machinery faults Assisting with complex repairs and technical problem-solving Liaising with customers regarding repairs and job progress Organising parts, materials and outside services Reviewing job sheets, labour and material records Managing breakdowns and urgent repair work About you Strong experience with heavy diesel machinery and mechanical repairs Experience with trucks, agricultural, forestry, construction or industrial machinery A relevant diesel, heavy automotive, mechanical engineering or similar trade qualification Previous experience as a Foreman, Leading Hand, Supervisor or Workshop Manager Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills Good knowledge of machinery servicing and repair An understanding of fabrication and general engineering The ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities Experience leading tradespeople and apprentices A current driver's license Competitive remuneration based on experience and ability Company vehicle provided, with personal use A senior role with genuine responsibility A wide variety of heavy machinery, hydraulic and engineering work Well-equipped workshop Supportive management Opportunity to influence how the workshop operates Ongoing training and development Stable employment with an established and growing business #J-18808-Ljbffr
