Camex Civil is looking for a skilled Operator to join our Tauranga team, working across a range of plant on rural roading construction projects. About the Role You'll operate a range of earthmoving plant and take on physical labour to keep the work front moving, covering plant operation, earthworks, drainage and finishing tasks within an assigned crew, often working alongside live traffic on rural roading projects. Key responsibilities include: Operating a range of earthmoving plant, including excavator, dozer, grader, loader, rollers, water cart, and truck and trailer where licensed. Carrying out topsoil stripping, bulk earthworks, drainage trenching, benching, batter trimming and final trimming. Placing, spreading and trimming to line, level and crossfall from pegs, stringlines or machine control. Loading and coordinating trucks on import and cart-away operations. Conducting pre-operational checks and minor maintenance on assigned machinery and promptly reporting any defects. Working safely alongside live traffic and within the approved traffic management layout. What You'll Bring A full Class 1 Driver's Licence Class 2 preferred. A minimum of 1 years' experience in the civil construction industry. Competence with construction tools and heavy machinery, including an excavator; dozer and/or grader experience is a strong advantage. Knowledge of working across different soil types and conditions. A hands-on approach and the physical capability to complete manual labouring tasks in a range of weather conditions. Site Safe Certification, WTR endorsements, slinging and lifting or First Aid certification are all advantageous.
