About the role Support and prepare patients of all ages for surgery while supporting other areas within the perioperative team in Dunedin as needed. Complete pre‑admission screening (investigations, fasting, medications, consent, optimisation). Ensure required tests/results are completed and reviewed before day of surgery. Coordinate, optimise, improve and reduce avoidable delays/cancellations. Identify and resolve gaps (missing consent, Share Goals of Care, Activated EPOA, investigations, fasting issues) prior to list start. Participate in daily readiness checks with Duty Clinical Nurse Coordinator/ Duty Anaesthesia. Validate consent, fasting plans, medication instructions, policy and legal compliance. Provide clear patient/whānau instructions ensuring interpreters are included when needed. Support equitable access and remove barriers to readiness. Track readiness defects and contribute to monthly reporting. About you You will have: NZ Nursing registration with current APC Proven leadership experience Airway management skills are desirable but not essential.
