About the Role We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to work in a fulltime equivalent (FTE) 0.6 or 24 hours per week position within our urban community mental health team. The successful applicant must have experience in mental health; have a range of case management, clinical assessment and treatment intervention knowledge and skills to support people to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes in their recovery. About the Team / Service / Location The Community Mental Health Service works to provide individual specialist assessment, intervention, caseload management and evaluation to support service user / tangata whaiora and their family / whanau in recovery. Delivering care for a defined group of service user / tangata whaiora to support community based treatment and care. For more information on living and working in Whanganui District Health Board click Whanganui - Home About you This position requires you to have several essential skills and knowledge requirements beyond the normal relevant tertiary qualification, NZ registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and current Annual Practicing Certificate. Requirements for this position are : The ability to demonstrate high levels of clinical knowledge in mental health disorders, psychiatric and addiction medications, and the management of risk. Practice based therapeutic modes of intervention in a person centred, family friendly, recovery model. Three years minimum experience working with case load management, identifying co-existing problems and delivering clinical and psychosocial case in a variety of community settings and proven practical experience as a Registered Nurse in mental health and addiction clinical settings. High levels of communication, customer relations and managing diversity skills, empathy and bi-cultural sensitivity. Be a provider of educational and community information that is supportive of the needs to the service users / tangata whaiora and their family / whanau Competent computer skills in Microsoft word and ability to learn computer software packages quickly, a police clearance and current clean driver's license are also required.
