As a Registered Nurse in the Childrens Ward at Whangarei Hospital you will make a meaningful difference every day by supporting tamariki and their whānau through vulnerable moments. Provide skilled family-focused nursing care through the application of clinical knowledge and theory to nursing practice. Demonstrate an ability to develop, evaluate and change care plans as required. Identify and interpret changes in the neonates/childs condition and respond appropriately. Competently performs clinical skills specific to area of practice. Demonstrates awareness of the neonatal/child/family/whanau cultural and spiritual beliefs and values. About the Team/Service/ Location The Childrens Ward is located in the recently completed facilities in the Te Kotuku Building at Whangārei Hospital. This is a 22-bed paediatric ward and a 4-bed acute assessment unit providing care for medical, orthopaedic and surgical patients. The ward cares for children from birth through to their 16th birthday.
