Our library is a vibrant, inclusive learning hub where every student is encouraged to discover the joy of reading, explore ideas and new possibilities, and connect with people. We foster curiosity, imagination, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning by providing a space where students can belong , discover, grow and thrive. Primary Objectives: Cultivate and foster a lifelong love of reading Inspire curiosity and independent learning To strengthen belonging and connection To develop student agency and creativity by providing opportunities To contribute to the management and administration of our school library. The successful applicant will have: Personal Qualities: A genuine passion and love of reading, particularly current children’s and YA literature Be warm, approachable with an ability to interact positively with students and staff Has strong administrative and organisational skills, is proactive and able to work independently. Excellent oral and written communication skills with effective time management skills Confidence to read to/present to classes/groups Willingness to keep up‑to‑date with information technology and library trends Be innovative and energetic. Have tolerance and have a sense of humour Is committed to supporting our Special Character and will adhere to the Craighead professional relationships - reflecting our values of Respect, Integrity, Service and personal Excellence. Skills, Experience and Qualifications: Experience using Accessit or another library management system Digitally capable, effective online search skills, confident to learn using new systems/technology Digital literacy skills Professional library qualification, although not a necessity Knowledge of: School library collection development and learning resources New Zealand Curriculum Children’s and Young Adult literature, especially New Zealand writers Applications Close: 18 September 2026, 5pm. #J-18808-Ljbffr
