We are now growing our services to include furniture repair, making sure furniture is safe, sturdy, and good quality for use in homes and businesses. About the Role We are looking for an experienced Furniture Finisher to join our Auckland team. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to fix, finish, and restore furniture, and who wants to help us make sure every piece is safe and looks great before it's used. Key Duties Reading drawings and work orders, and checking sample pieces to understand what's needed Choosing the right tools and machines, and planning the order of work Setting up appropriate machines and preparing materials so it can be cut, planed, shaped, and sanded properly before use Using machines to cut, shape, and smooth pieces of furniture to install or repair Removing old paint or finish using steel wool, sandpaper, or paint stripper, and scraping off any soft or worn coating (if necessary) Applying varnish, stain, lacquer, or paint to surfaces, then polishing or waxing them for a smooth finish Fitting and securing frame parts together Attaching backing materials to finished pieces Requirements A New Zealand Register Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3), OR At least three years of relevant work experience in areas such as cabinetry, maintenance work, furniture assembly, or similar trades What We Offer Guaranteed 30 hours of work per week Competitive hourly pay: $28.00 – $35.00 NZD Steady, ongoing work based in Auckland #J-18808-Ljbffr
