Senior Restoration Technician or Qualified Builder Senior Restoration Technician | Tauranga / Bay of Plenty RestorX is part of Johns Lyng Group, a leading restoration and construction business operating across New Zealand. We’re expanding our presence in Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty and are and looking for a practical, reliable and hardworking Qualified Builder or Qualified Senior Restoration Technician to join us. This is a hands‑on role ideally suited to someone with a building, construction or restoration background who enjoys problem‑solving and takes pride in their workmanship. You’ll work across a variety of insurance restoration projects, including water and flooding, fire and smoke, mould remediation, structural cleaning, strip‑outs and contents restoration . No two days are the same, and you’ll play an important role in helping customers through what can be a stressful time. Key Responsibilities Manage and complete restoration works across Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty Work independently and take ownership of jobs from start to finish Complete water, fire, smoke, mould and structural cleaning works Assist with demolition, strip‑outs and contents restoration Set up, monitor and manage drying and restoration equipment Escalate matters promptly to the Supervisor where further support or decision‑making is required Identify additional work opportunities and communicate these to management Build strong relationships with customers, insurers, loss adjusters and contractors Source and coordinate local subcontractors and suppliers when required Provide clear, accurate and timely job updates, reports, photographs, job notes and supporting documentation, ensuring all job information is completed to a high professional standard and submitted within required timeframes. Identify hazards, damage and issues and proactively find solutions Maintain a high standard of workmanship and presentation Ensure all work complies with company, health and safety and legislative requirements You’ll be dealing directly with customers, insurers, loss adjusters and contractors, so strong communication, professionalism and the ability to represent Restorx independently are essential. Resourceful, proactive and able to work independently Confident making decisions and solving problems on site Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship A professional and customer‑focused approach when dealing with customers and other stakeholders Honest, reliable and accountable Comfortable developing relationships and finding local solutions Good computer, smartphone and digital documentation skills Current and valid driver's licence Willingness to work after‑hours and weekend callouts when required This role is about more than completing jobs.
